Title: Social Media and Marketing Intern/Committee Volunteer
Job Purpose: Female focused non-profit networking organization, Wimmies (Women in Media & Marketing) is seeking a part-time (5 - 10 hours/week) unpaid social media and marketing intern and committee volunteer to help build, manage, foster, and grow the Wimmies brand presence across social media channels and Wimmies owned properties including our website and newsletter. This opportunity is unpaid. College credits may be available.

Create and curate digital content for the Wimmies social channels on Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook including imagery, video and copywriting
Schedule and manage social media content across all platforms
Implement platform-specific best practices to grow our audience and connect with current and prospective members
Foster interactivity, engagement, community growth, expertise, trust, and brand loyalty while seeking out opportunities for conversation within our platforms
Work with the Wimmies social committee to create and post content to help promote and cover upcoming events
Provide social media metric reporting to the Wimmies Board of Directors
Work with the Wimmies social committee on community engagement, including answering comments and questions, prompting further engagement, escalating issues to leadership, following up on issues, and maintaining community standards
Monitor and respond to general inquiries submitted via our social channels
Work with the Wimmies BOD to help publish a quarterly member newsletter via MailChimp and provide metrics on campaign performance
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Currently enrolled college student (junior, senior year, or graduate student) or recent college grad (within one year)
Marketing, Communications, Advertising/Media and Business majors preferred
Excellent research, reporting, writing, and proofreading skills
Working knowledge of social media - Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, SnapChat, Pinterest, etc.
Proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), online calendars
Ability to write with a given audience in mind (adhering to voice and brand guidelines), keeping communication clear and concise
Comfort and curiosity around women’s initiatives, media and marketing
Wimmies (Women in Media & Marketing) is a 501(c)(6) non-profit networking group for women in the Los Angeles area working in digital media. Our goal is to connect digital's brightest women and to help elevate their careers by expanding their network.
We do this by hosting exclusive invite-only events throughout the year at digital media companies in Southern California. Wimmies events are held on a quarterly basis and attendees include a network of over 900 women working for top brands, advertising agencies, media companies and publishers. Previous events have been held at Google, Snapchat, Twitter, Deutsch, Fullscreen, Red Bull, Tastemade and more. Our marquee events host 100+ women and provide a casual and friendly environment for networking along with an intimate fireside chat with a top female executive and industry thought-leader.
